Members of the Cedar Grove Fire Department responded on the report of a small brush fire located on the Hilltop Property. Upon arrival Cedar Grove Police had located a small smoldering camp fire that had began to spread to the area surrounding the fire. The fire was quickly extinguished by members of Truck 75 and Engine 73.
Residents are reminded that the State of New Jersey Forest Fire Service currently places Northern New Jersey, which includes Cedar Grove, at a Moderate Fire Hazard. Additionally camp fires are prohibited in the Hilltop Reservation.
