The Cedar Grove Volunteer Fire Department responds to your need for emergency fire services. Our department strives to provide you and your family with the most efficient and professional service possible, using the most modern equipment and technology. Protecting lives and property is what we do – your financial help is what we need.
Throughout the year, the all volunteer members of Cedar Grove Fire Department leave their families, homes and jobs to answer your emergency calls. Our members volunteer their time and energy. We don’t get paid for responding to emergencies, maintaining equipment or attending drills and training. We’re on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. When the alarm sounds, whether at 3:00 AM or in the middle of dinner, we respond.
Our mission is to provide the residents of Cedar Grove with a highly trained fire suppression and prevention organization that protects the community from fire and hazardous situations. Last year our volunteer firefighters responded to over 400 fires, alarms, motor vehicle accidents, utility emergencies with roughly 8,000 devoted man-hours in both Cedar Grove and our mutual aid areas.
The services provided by the Cedar Grove Volunteer Fire Department for the residents of the Township are invaluable. In addition to the time spent at fire calls, most members spend an equal or greater amount of time at training sessions preparing for incidents of all types. This is testament to the dedication and concern the C.G.F.D. members have for the well being of our neighbors.
As we begin our 2013 fund drive, we are asking for a $50 tax-deductible donation from each household. Please make your check payable to the Cedar Grove Volunteer Fire Department.
With all Municipalities and Fire Departments under mounting financial burdens, donations from residents and local business leaders are essential for us to maintain and upgrade our firehouses as well as our lifesaving and support equipment.
