Cedar Grove Vol. Firefighters stood by in their respective firehouses during yesterdays nor'easter storm. They responded to a large number of calls including transformer fire's, wires down, trees into homes and the plow truck fire pictured above. The cause of the truck fire is currently undetermined and no injures were reported. As a reminder, please shovel out hydrants near your home.

On February 2nd 2018, Members of the Cedar Grove Fire Department celebrate at the department dinner. This years dinner honored out going Department Chief John Bannon Jr. Chief Bannon has served twelve years in the capacity of Deputy Chief and Chief. A job well done, Congratulations John !

Recent Graduats Fire Training Courses I and II

Theses are our most recent firefighter graduates, five from basic Firefighter I and one from the advanced Firefighter II school. Chief Shaulis explained that the courses are extensive, over 180 hours long, all done on their own time, most in the evenings, "it takes dedication of the member and the support of their family". Congratulations to them all.

CGFD Beefsteak Fundraiser Nov. 11th, 2017 Blockbuster

""The Members of Cedar Grove Fire Dept. pose for a photo at the conclusion of the Michael Jorn / Stanley Crowell November 11th Beefsteak Fundraiser.
Fundraiser Chairman Chris Donlon reports that the event was a complete success. Hundreds of Cedar Grove Residents attended the event along with groups of firefighters from the surrounding departments.The Event was in support of Michael Jorn and Stanley Crowell both active members of the fire department and past chiefs. Both are battling cancer. Donlon wanted to thank everyone for their support of the event and continued prayers for both Mike and Stan.

Cedar Grove Firefighters responded to the scene of a motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival firefighters found one person entrapped. Firefighters extricated the victim and she was subsequently transported to a area trauma center by the Verona Ambulance Squad.
