On July 4, 2024 Cedar Grove Firefighters provided coverage for Orange Firefighters while they battled a three alarm fire.

CGFD Responds to fire on Holly Lane
On June 26, 2024 Cedar Grove Firefighters responded to an activated fire alarm at a Holly Lane Building. Upon arrival firefighters found a fire on a 2nd floor deck. The fire was being controlled by the spinkler system. The fire was extinguised, check for extention were negative. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
CGFD Responds to fallen tree, with people trapped.
On June 24, 2024 Cedar Grove Firefighters responded to the scene of a fallen tree onto two vehicles with power wires down. Firefighters were able to safely assist one operator from his vehicle. PSE&G and DOT crews responded. The highway did remain closed while repairs were being made.

CGFD assists with the Townships 33rd Clean Sweep Event
On June 1st 2024 Cedar Grove Firefighters along with other township volunteers assisted at the Clean Sweep Event. The attendees picked up trash around the township.
CGFD Hosts Jr. Firefighter Day
The township held its annual Jr. Firefighter Day. Kids had lots of fun playing in the water spraying hoses and practicing rescuing victims. There was also a dunk tank.
