CGFD Responds to Building Collapse
On 5-18-2026 Cedar Grove Firefighters responded to a building collapse on Grove Avenue. Upon arrival a large area of the building roof had collapse while roof work was being done. No injuries were reported.
CGFD Responds to Building Fire
On 5-18-2026 Cedar Grove Firefighters responded to a fire inside bagel shop located at 597 Pompton. Upon arrival a small fire was quickly extinguished. There was no extension and no injuries reported.
CGFD Responds to MVC with Entrapment
On 4-30-2026 Cedar Grove Firefighters responded to the intersection of Rt.23 and E. Bradford for a motor vehicle crash with entrapment. One person was rescued and transported to an area hosptial.
CGFD Monthly Rope Training
On April 27th 2026, the monthly rope training was conducted. Members repelled from a roof using Truck 74 as a high point.
2026 Cedar Grove Fire Dept. Dinner
On 4-17-2026 the department held its annual dinner. This year honored out going Department Chief Chris Donlon
CGFD Responds Mutual Aid to West Orange
On 3-25-2026 Cedar Grove Firefighters responded to West Orange to provide coverage while they battled a 2nd alarm fire.
CGFD Responds Mutual Aid to Montclair
On 3-23-2026 Cedar Grove firefighters provided coverage while Montclair Firefighters battled a general alarm, fire.
CGFD Responds Mutual Aid to South Orange
On 3-21-2026 Cedar Grove Firefighters assisted South Essex Firefighters at the scene of a structure fire in South Orange.
Members overhaul second floor check for hidden fire
