The Cedar Grove Fire Department, in collaboration with the Township and Board of Education, is now assisting with the 9/11 Memorial Flag Installation. In its eighth year, Cedar Grove High School is memorializing the victims of 9/11 with the installation of 2,977 flags on the school’s front lawn, which is located at 90 Rugby Road, Cedar Grove NJ. Each flag has a marker in front that bears the name of a 9/11 victim, and flag representative of their country of residence. The annual installation is entitled Cedar Grove Waves. Members of Cedar Grove Fire Department did respond to New York and assisted FDNY. Cedar Grove Chief Michael Grasso noted, “it is especially impactful to have them involved with the memorial.” Student volunteers will be installing flags on Friday, Sept. 9.
